Air cooling extreme overclock?

CustomComputerMan

I have an i5 2500k overclocked to 4.8 Ghz with 1.375 volts.  I had a 240mm corsair aio but when I turn on my computer it gives an extremely musty smell.  Should I buy another watercooler or will an air cooler such as the be quiet dark rock 3 be enough to cool it??

I could barely run my 2500K at 5GHz with 1.4v on a Cooler Master V8, so I think you'll need to stick to water.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

The cooler master has the cooling capacity of 180watts, while dark rock pro 3 has 250 watts, which is enough for the i5 at 4,8ghz,

I have a dark rock 3 on a xeon 1650 at 4.5 and 1.355V. It keeps my temps in check at mid to low 70s under load. I can go up to 4.7 at 1.42V and it ventures into the mid 80s. You could get a beefier cooler like the pro 4 and it should help.

Intel Xeon 1650 V0 (4.4GHz @1.4V), ASRock X79 Extreme6, 32GB of HyperX 1866, Sapphire Nitro+ 5700XT, Silverstone Redline (black) RL05BB-W, Crucial MX500 500GB SSD, TeamGroup GX2 512GB SSD, WD AV-25 1TB 2.5" HDD with generic Chinese 120GB SSD as cache, x2 Seagate 2TB SSHD(RAID 0) with generic Chinese 240GB SSD as cache, SeaSonic Focus Plus Gold 850, x2 Acer H236HL, Acer V277U be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4, Logitech K120, Tecknet "Gaming" mouse, Creative Inspire T2900, HyperX Cloud Flight Wireless headset, Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

I dont know why people still buy and recomend AIO , i bought just 1 and use like 1 week , they are louder, more expensive and could potentially kill all your computer(like throwing a dart ) ,You can check statistics , buy a beefed Air cooler like dark rock pro or noctua nhd15 (Yes aio are prettier but your look wont save you from a leak :P )

I had a 2500k and that chip holds temps like a champ, you can push that with a dark rock and the temps should be same or 5º max (i dont think it reaches +3º from your AIO)

Case: Corsair 760T  |  Psu: Evga  650w p2 | Cpu-Cooler : Noctua Nh-d15 | Cpu : 8600k  | Gpu: Gygabyte 1070 g1 | Ram: 2x8gb Gskill Trident-Z 3000mhz |  Mobo : Aorus GA-Z370 Gaming K3 | Storage : Ocz 120gb sata ssd , sandisk 480gb ssd , wd 1gb hdd | Keyboard : Corsair k95 rgb plat. | Mouse : Razer deathadder elite | Monitor: Dell s2417DG (1440p 165hz gsync) & a crappy hp 24' ips 1080p | Audio: Schiit stack + Akg k712pro + Blue yeti.
