Curiosity: Switching from S8 to Iphone and vice versa

Just for my own edification how does this work if at all in terms of data, contacts, photos etc.  I know when upgrading from one Galaxy to the next everything was including apps was transferred through Smart Switch either through wi-fi or a USB. 

 

How does it work between different OS's though?  Or are you just up the creek without a paddle?

Not possible. Both manufacturers want to keep you in their ecosystem so they make it hard to leave.

Actually no Apple makes a nice transition to IOS from android and carries over most things it can. It might be the other way around I can't remember.

You can use SmartSwitch and a USB dongle to transfer from an iPhone to Samsung phone.

 

Not sure if Apple has something similar. You may end up having to export your data. Keep in mind also you will likely have to re-buy all of your apps.

Yeah I just got done paying off my S8+ and plan to keep it for a long time if I ever do get an Iphone its good to know I can at a minimum transfer my contacts.  I also have a bunch of users I support at the day job that have been asking about it.
