CoffeeBlack

I'm looking for some great Skyrim mods that are worth trying. I don't care what kind of mod they are, if you think they are awesome, please share :)

If you're looking for great quality and your system can handle it (which isn't too hard TBH, unless you're going for some seriously intensive graphics mods like ultra-lush grasses etc) I can personally vouch for;

-NebuLa1's HD texture pack (along with the official HD pack for the textures the mod doesn't cover)

-Pure Waters

-RCRN (Realistic Colours and Real Nights)

Here's a few screenies of those mods in action;

As for gameplay mods, if you want a hardcore RPG & realism mod, check out Requiem. Its a pretty intense overhaul of many aspects of the game.

A few other nice mods are Dynamic Merchants, Lightweight Potions & Poisons, the unoffical patches (for Skyrim and Dawnguard if you have it) and of course SkyUI.

I love those weapons just because of how typical sword-like they are. That probably sounds a little stupid, but I'm sick of the over-complicated designs of all the high-end weapons in skyrim. These fit the role perfectly.

Get the Skyrim texture pack combiner, it's a mix of two different "HD" texture packs. I also recommend getting any ENB for the game if your machine can run it.

I made a mod that removes the weight of crafting materials, but I haven't updated it in a while because I don't own any of the DLC.

One of the most downloaded mods for Skyrim (I'm pretty sure it was #1 for 2012), is Skyrim Redone. It completely reworks the races, perk trees, standing stones, combat difficulty and damage - but for the better and without changing the core Skyrim experience.

The top 3 ENB's on the Nexus are: Sharpshooters, Superb and Jasmine. Jasmine is a little bit soft, has more bloom and looks a bit retouched. Superb is very sharp and crisp. Sharpshooters looks richer, with more color saturation. So it boils down to taste. Don't forget that fps will be affected by ENB's, so try them out to see if your system can haddle them. You can always uninstall them, as well.

Other good mods include: Immersive HUD, W.A.T.E.R, A Quality World Map, Claralux (improves light sources), Deadly Dragons(makes dragons difficulty adjustable), SkyUI, the Imaginator, Follower Trap Safety, Invulnerable Horses, Lockpick Graduation and Ultimate Followers Mod.

If you've already played thru once and want to change/add to the story, try: Alternate Start; also Moonpath To Elsweyr (totally new, complete quest).
