5GHz Overclock Club

Just redid my cooling setup and applied premium thermal paste to my 3570k. its idling at lower temps w/ H70 @ 26 on lowest temp core. heres my previous highest run @ 4.7 w/ old cooling config, this new one should with a little black magic voodoo trickery get me into this club as the first 3570k

Note my hottest temp of 92 @ the bottom

And if I succeed i shall do the Gangnam style dance to celebrate!

And if all else fails i'll either be bringing this baby outside or submerging my Radiator in ice cold water.

DO IT! Mad props will be awarded. Although I'd make sure the water is REALLY far from your core components!

Ok i got in windows but it crashed at 5002 MHz almost as soon as i tried opening up CPU-z my highest clock i can validate is the one i took at 4.9 and even then it wasnt stable. theres absolutely no way in hell i can get my baby stable @ 5 she just cant handle it. Part of it is my memory is dumb because for some reason my multiplier would be set to 50 and i would boot in and then it would go back down to 49. so then i attempted to change it by the BLCK set it to x49 BLCK 102.1 and thats when i got in at 5002 MHz only to crash immediately upon trying to open cpu-z. i tried lowing the freq, upping the voltage and even relaxing the timings, my memory just wouldnt cooperate at 1632 MHz...its a 1600 MHz kit rofl... Anyways my baby needs a rest im surpirsed she didnt fry. Had her at 1.52 volts

EDIT: im still listening to gangnam style anyways. i consider booting at 5002 GHz a success

This is using a Noctua NHD14 with one fan...and it only gets up to 85C

I had this at 5.3 on my old board but that blew up before the CPU did, letting me get this O/C

That's hot O_O

Don't run 5+ 24/7 as I need over 1.4v for it so I generally run 4.8 as my daily, but here is a run at 5.0

D5 pump

Updated to:

Raystorm CPU block

XSPC GTX680 v2 blocks

Running that would degrade it in max 2 weeks

If I was rich I'd buy 100 processors and try those voltages. But I'm not rich!

Jimmeyyyyy. Can you show people your rig because it's impossible to get H100 pass 5 GHz, and you get it to 5.5 Ghz....... I'm so jealous with this

Can anyone think of how I could tweak these settings to get them stable? I was only able to boot Into windows with this. I'm using h70 cooler

It's not stable I would assume, just pumps enough volts to screenshot and bench and then goes to normal

I know the guy ran FSX at 5.00 Ghz everyday but that seems pretty impressive. However, you need a really good cooling( not H100 or H100i). He ran off a custom loop water cool. That's why he can get the max performance out of it.

It's only a temporary voltage, everyday I run 4.4GHZ and 1.35 volts

You can't use your system on a vcore of 1.65 (thats what he is running with @ 5.5) your cpu wil degrade in a week

I am going to try for 5 again later tonight Using Intel extreme tuning program, that way it will be quicker and less of a burden having to load windows every time. Could messing with my memory help at all?

Maybe time for an upgrade on that H70... any more volts will kill that thing.

This might be a silly question, but are you guys running at 5ghz day to day? Are modern processors really that awesome now or is that a max overclock? lol, even 4ghz on a day to day overclock would be a dream for me.
