I recently saw a video detailing a PS4 emulator for PC and I wanted to know if its genuine or not. They have seemingly legit website and youtube channel and even github repository. But I couldn't find out much about it. Can anyone check?

Yes it's definitely fake. There's no way ps4 can be emulated this smoothly. Probably a scam for the sweet Patreon money Or the program mines on the user's computer. It's best to stay away from something that looks too good to be true.

even if it would be true, the biggest red flag is that it asks you to complete a survey to access the download.

 

They've actually put a lot of effort into this. their website looks really legit. they even have detailed information on how to configure, what's the minimum hardware, error messages and fixes.

 

(in their uncharted gameplay, you can see the gpu usage. Looks legit to people who don't pay attention to that, but its just randomly generated numbers probably, or even preset numbers.)

The thing with the PS4 and XB1 is you don't need to emulate anything because they use hardware that's compatible with PCs. For the PS4, you just need something similar to WINE to make the games' system and API calls compatible with the host system's.

 

Now whether or not everything is legitimate? Eh, that's up for grabs. Considering I need them to extract basically the PS4's UID, I'd rather have a throwaway system to test this.

there are not legit emu's for xbox or ps4.  they would be sued into oblivion very quickly and im sure memory is encrytped when the game is running somehow.  if they move onto a new system that isnt just an upgrade of the base systems (i mean a radical change not just a small one) then maybe you will get an emu when their legal department doesnt care anymore

This is 100% fake. If you google for the pcsx4 there are numerous websites that have reviewed. A couple examples are https://guidestorm.com/scam-alert/ps4-emulator/ and www.pcgamer.com. I also think that ps4 emulators are not possible, atleast that's what I read on Reddit before.. I hope for PS5 there will be a real emulator because I don't have 500$ for it...
