Msi Mech 2 series for AMD Radeon

Msi has announced a new line called Mech 2 for AMD based video cards. First card for this new line will be the Msi RX Mech 2, which will be the RX 580 and 570, built on the Polaris architecture. 



MSI's new MECH 2 series cards are split into two SKUs for now: Radeon RX 570 and RX 580. The MSI Radeon RX 580 MECH 2 8G OC is the flagship MECH 2 card in the RX 500 series range, with MSI's own TORX Fan 2.0 providing 22% more air pressure for improved cooling performance and lowered noise.

The card should make a appearance at this years Computex, which will be held in Taipei Taiwan from June 5th 2018 to June 9th 2018.

To be fair, they did change the cooler size, which I would hope helps because the Armor was the only cooler design I always turned people away from due to it's poor performance, especially on the higher end.

 

Now I have to wonder if the MK2 was needed at all; the Mech looks very similar. Perhaps a bit of a thicker heatsink? Hard to tell from just the one photo

Remember the time AIB partners had the fins run along the width of the card? Changing that to lengthwise was the last real improvement.
