Looking for a discreate minimal and quite mech keyboard for work

Fictionvl

so as the title says, I'm looking for a keyboard for work, something quite minimal and doesn't flash in everyones face

I recently got this office job and the keyboards suck... at home I have a 60% blue cherry MX keyboard which I absolutely adore, while its portable and all, its really loud and I don't want to annoy everyone around me.

so if anyone has any good ideas on really quite but tactile switches or something as good as MX blues but silent then I'd appreciate the help

Early 2020 Build : Intel i7 8700k // MSI Krait Z370 // Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Aorus 5700 XT // NZXT H500

Early 2019 Build : Ryzen 2600X // Asus Tuff X470 // G.Skill Trident Z RGB 8x2 16GB // MSI RTX 2070 // NZXT H500

Late 2017 Build : Intel i7 8700k // Asus Prime Z370-A // G.Skill Trident Z 8x2 16GB // EVGA GTX 1080 Ti  // NZXT S320 Elite

Late 2015 Build : Intel i7 6700k // Asus Maximus VI Gene Z170 //  Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Gigabyte GTX 970 // Corsair Air 240

You can get a keyboard with Cherry MX Silent switches, they're pretty quiet. Or reds with o-rings.

I have a 60% at worked with lubed Zealios  and sound dampening foam under the PCB, it's pretty damn quiet.

If you really adore that keyboard... Have you perhaps considered buying a second one and mounting rubber O-rings on the switches themselves?

That dampens the sound considerably.

  • 1 month later...

This might be a hard sell, but how about a Matias Quiet Pro? $150, USD. It's linear, and it's an ALPS clone (have fun finding keycaps), but I've heard they are very quiet for a mech.
