Cpu reaching 100C when rendering

Hey there! 

So my huge problem is that I began rendering a video in Premiere pro when suddenly the Cpu temp monitoring program (Core temp) alarmed me that one of the Cores reached 100 degrees Celsius.

 

I’ve attached an image from the program. I made this screenshot around a minute before the 100C overheat warning. 

 

I’m using an Alpenföhn Mattehorn White CPU cooler , 2 stock case fans ( Ciolermaster I guess ) and another one case fan (AeroCool Ds ) right behind the Matterhorn.

 

I’m sitting here without any ideas what could have been possibly happened.

Bad thermal paste application or low mounting pressure probably.

What cpu? 

Remount the cooler and reapply (clean before) thermal paste correctly.

He has an i7 7700K, I think it's a bad mount or he didn't even put paste?

1. Make sure that you removed the plastic on the bottom of the cpu cooler

2. Did you apply thermal paste?

3. Did you screw the cooler in all the way? But make sure that you dont overpressurize it. Screw it in tightly, but not too.

4. If you had applied thermal paste, remove it completely with pure alcohol and a napkin and reapply it, make sure it is a even spread.

5. Are the cooler fans spinning, and how fast? Manually set them to full speed and see if that helps.

 

You have a 95 w cpu and a 210 w max cooler, so your cpu should remain nice and cool.

Are you running OC or stock? You can get lower temps by disabling Asus auto-OC solution (can't remember its name) or by setting manual voltages. Most of the 7700K and 8700K are because of motherboard raising volts too high even at stock clocks.

Hey there! I applied a new paste and at intensive gaming I get around 70-75C.. I think that's fine. Or should It be a bit cooler?

It's still on hotter side for gaming temps. But nothing to worry about. Did you look at voltages?

I smell auto. Do not set it to auto. If you set it, then it will lower your temps. From my own experience, Auto uses unnecessarily too much power, which causes excessive heat.

1.28V isn't that bad, but its something you could run fairly good OC with. You can set manual voltages from BIOS. Its CPU VCORE voltage. 1.1V is stock, but some CPUs can't run stable with that. You should try with 1.15-1.2V.
