The Corsair 900D is a single system chassis focused on watercooling. It was released in 2013, so the I/O has definitely aged.

 

The 900D can fit 2 480mm/420mm radiators (top and one side of the lower compartment), a 240mm/280mm radiator (one on the other side of the lower compartment), and a 120mm radiator (at the rear of the case). If you opt for only a pair of 240mm/280mm radiators for the lower compartment, two ATX power supplies can be installed (length is dependent on radiator size in the specified form factor).

 

As for motherboard compatibility, that ranges from miniITX (lul), to the usual ATX, then SSI CEB (12in x 10.5in) Extended ATX (up to 12in x 10.9in), dual-socket EATX (not SSI EEB) and SSI EEB (both are 12in x 13in, some standoff repositioning may be needed), XL-ATX (MSI's are 13.6in x 10.4in), all the way to the massive HPTX motherboards by EVGA (which measures in at 13.6in x 15in)

but settled for  mountain mods gold digger for now I could always go duality but I am in love with hoizontal mobos

So it's from CaseLabs? Always wanted one of their cases, I do like their Magnum SMA8 rev.A, but it's way too expensive and the tons of options makes it difficult to choose what I want and confusing at the same time. Do they not have any mounting options for installing a 5.25" DVD drive.

Yep, you can put those in.  There tons of options for the cases.  Keep an eye out for used cases.  That how I nabbed my SM8 and TX10-D for way cheaper, plus did not have to wait out weeks to get one.

Only reason I even have a TX10-D is because I nabbed it off chap in Tampa for 600 bucks with extra accessories thrown in.  It was well worth the drive to pick it up. The sliding motherboard tray has me spoiled now.

Or a 2 system streaming setup. That is probably the most realistic use case for this case.

Makes most sense, smaller second board can do video capture and compiling.  At my work place, we do something a bit similar, but still use one board.  While one part is busy with the simulation, another part of the system is capturing and encoding on the fly.  That way, users don't have to wait hours to review the video of the simulation.

The fan shrouds are actually modular, and we have a variety of different fan configurations including twin 200mm.  Not sure if they are on the site yet, but they will be shortly if not.

I'm a 900d owner.

 

Considering getting a 1000D when I buy a house.

I had to brace my desk with galvanised steel brackets due to its weight.

 

So God only knows how much the 1000D weighs. I can barely lift the 900D full system for cleaning with Compu Cleaner air blower. It's not easy.

 

1000D would need it's own desk.

For those wondering about the front I/O, Corsair responded to a ticket I submitted about it and stated that it terminates in 2 USB 3.0 cables and 2 USB 3.1 gen 2 cables, which means you'll need that many headers on your motherboard to utilize them all.  This is likely to support two motherboards on a single I/O panel, so bear that in mine when selecting motherboards.
