Not very. It's basically the i7-3770 vs the R5 1600. The R5 is faster in both single and multithreaded workloads and can be overclocked.

If you want to compare with an overclocked 1600, use the 1600x's data.

do you think this would make a significant... say GTA V framerate diifference?

well the 1240 is a quad core ivy bridge @ 3.4ghz so the 1600 would be the same-ish single core and would far surpass the 1240 in multicore.

If you already have the Xeon, no. If you don't then I'd say yes, because the 1155 platform is getting rather old.

the situation is that i am currently looking into getting a graphics card benched on a ryzen 5 1600, and in the future i plan on getting something like thishttps://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883284588&cm_re=xeon-_-83-284-588-_-Product and im wondering if there is much of a difference.

Link is broken. But I'd still advise against going with something that old. Times are changing so it's quite beneficial now to at least get a 6-core CPU.

it might be a location issue but you seem to also forget i generally lack that thing called money

That's rather expensive, especially since that's a Sandy Bridge machine (notice the absence of the v2) with a slow HDD. You can find Haswell-based OEM machines for that kind of money online (HP ProDesk 400 for instance).

yeah, but what if i also partially want it just to say i on a freaking xeon? also, i wasn't nessescarily getting exactly that, it was mostly an example

If you want a real Xeon, get a X5670 and a 1366 board that supports it and OC the bajeezus out of it.

Ugh, DDR3 doesn't work on anything Ryzen or Skylake and later. So I can't get you a list. You'll need to look for 2nd hand stuff if you want DDR3.

i guess try current stuff, but i was thinking used components would be better for price/performance at this price range.

It is, but pcpartpicker only does new, and I can't dig around for used parts for you as I don't know the 2nd hand scene outside of my own country lol.
