Hello I need too know when ibm computer became obsolete and had been stopped becoming used. I need this information for a reseach papper im doing on cpus and gpus thanks a million!

In what way? Because the latest mainstream consumer device I remember with an IBM CPU are the Nintendo Wii (last made circa 2011, with the Wii Mini) or if you want a personal computer I guess it would be the Macintosh computers on the PowerPC CPU's (made 2005 or so).

I ment for home computers. When did ibm cpus for computers stopped being used

2005 with the introduction of Intel processors on the new MacBook Pro line. The PowerMac G5 was the last PPC home computer. This was due to their inability to create chips that would operate above 3GHz.

 

Although one user @rabidz7 has seemingly overclocked A G5 to 4.5GHz. I think that could be a bit of baloney however.
