Handrest gets filthy. Please help!!!

Akshat Sharma

I have and ASUS R558UQ, which has plastic palm rests. These get pretty filthy and dirty because of my sweating problem(my palms sweat a lot) and even after cleaning them, they get dirty within 3-4 days. What should I do?

I think you cant do much rather then buying a different type of keyboard. I expirienced this problem on several Notebook and for me it fully depends on the Materials used. For example if i use plastic palmrest i have the same problem as you but on my macbook (iknow its not the same as a deddicated keyboard but still you lay your palms on it) i have no issues at all. On my desksetup i use a low profile keyboard so i can lay my hands on the table which also feels good an doesent end up beaing so dirty.

You could try covering the palm rests with a piece of cloth that could be washed regularly.  Might be a hassle to use if you travel with the laptop a lot, but it could help keep it clean.

You could have tactical baby wipes handy, for use on the wrist rest and your hands.
