Need help troubleshooting

GinguS

I dont know if this is the right place to post this but i am in desperate need of some help. When i plug my computer in the power goes out in my whole room. I think it's the PSU, however i don't know how to troubleshoot it without plugging it back in. I need my computer to hand in my assignment before 1159. Is there anything i can do?

Try on a diffrent wall outlet

If that works then I might call a electrician to take a look

Open up the outlet too and take a look, could be a broken ground. If that looks ok take a look at your breaker box

If it all worked fine before the fuse is probably broken, try in a different room. Replace the fuse if you can, or inform an electrician

Computer is getting old, but it's been working perfectly in this place for a year. PSU is a 500W Cooler master rs500. Same thing happens in another outlet, can a faulty PSU do this?

If there's a short for whatever reason, it could do that.

How do i check for a short in the PSU? And is there another component in the computer that could cause this, or is it 100% the psu?
