Motherboard help with Ryzen 3

Hello, on PC part picker it says

Warning: These parts have potential issues/incompatibilities. (See details.) 

  • Some AMD X370 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Raven Ridge CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

On the AMD website it said that the motherboard has the updated BIOS, what else do I have to do because the part picker says it has a error.

Which board?  When I click your link it takes me to a build with a 2600 not an APU.. I want to make sure I know the right one.

Asus - ROG STRIX X470-I GAMING Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard

This is what comes up when I click the link, but it's x470, not 370.

Weird stuff.  I don't see the b350 when I click your link.

Anyway,

 That's from the MSI website.  It doesn't say APUs so you'd have to update the BIOS with another Ryzen or Athlon before installing the APU.

I think AMD has a program to loan you an athlon to update the bios if your system isn't updated, but it involves mail, and time and ...yeah.

The newest boards should all be updated already but I don't know of a way to 100% confirm they support raven ridge unless it's advertised.

General rule, you'll either need a 400 series motherboard or 300 series motherboard capable of self flashing to be compatible with the Ryzen refresh.  The board makers are still dragging their heels on the more affordable 400 boards atm.

just gona say dont get an MSI board, from what i have heard they are just problems BIOS wise. even if thats resolved they arent great boards anyway and a decent ASRock board is generally just a little more or cheaper even

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

anything that dosent say MSI or Gigabyte if we are talking AMD boards, just pick whatever suits your price range really. also if you get the board and it wont post you can apply for a free AMD bootkit, where they will send you a crappy but compatible CPU with witch you can update the BIOS to a newer version. just one more thing is that you should check the motherboards official page to check that there is a BIOS that adds support for the chip you want to use so you dont buy something the board maker dosent want to update :)

Newegg should say on some mobos that it is "Ryzen 2 ready" or some shit. Look around on newegg. Don't buy a x470 board for some ryzen 3 cpu.

Probably not ready out of the box, but no harm in checking with the seller or Asus.  Sometimes they get revised, but they don't explicitly advertise this.

Good?  It's subjective I guess.  It's nice for integrated graphics (I think it comes close to a 750/1030).  It can save you money while you can upgrade to a more powerful GPU (and even CPU) later.

if you get an asus strix board you should be able to flash the bios SANS cpu

bios flashback can be done SANS cpu
