New Rig New Montior

newbie01

Hello,

I am looking for an affordable monitor that could run my rig https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/NHJWbX

I am looking to get a good 1080p monitor but I know some people may say get a 144hz monitor ? I don't really know the difference I know that something like 1ms response is good and thats all I know. Should I be looking at getting a Nividia or geforce backup thingy monitor?

p.s First time building a pc rig

EDIT* Will not be able to afford a 4k monitor or even a 144mhz monitor atm, future maybe. So I guess I will just be looking at a 1080p monitor that is 24 inches and has G-sync preferably.

Thanks

With a rig like that you could run 1440p 144hz. FYI That rig is overkill for 1080p 60 even 1080p 144. Dish out extra to get 1440p 144hz, it will be worth it. I don't know what the geforce backup thingy is but im assuming that g-sync and I don't think its too important but that would be nice.

For that, you'll probably want a 1440p 144Hz monitor depending on your budget. I've heard once you go to 1440p, you can't go back.

G-Sync can actually be pretty good, especially at 100+Hz from what I hear.

Agreed but if it jacks up the price by 200 which it does a lot I wouldn't recommend it.

Depending on size, it actually looks really similar to 1080p. My 32inch 1440p has only slightly higher DPI than my 27 inch 1080p.
