Pros and cons of rx vega 64

I saw a card that peaked my interest but I never used radeon  so I want to know the pros and cons of the rx vega 64. I had some 1080 tis and they are great and I I tried to justify the price for a bit but I ended up returning them and got a regular nvidia 1080 but the vega caught my eye since it has hbm memory

the 1080 is better in almost every regard

 

only some professional workloads profit from vega

One thing I cam say is that radeon software was extremely buggy for me when I was using an RX560. Idk if it has had any update till now.

So the standard nvidia gtx 1080 founders edition beats it at everything? Does it at least run cooler?

Doesnt "Blow" it out of the water, it is marginally better. But what it does have going for it, (1080) is that it is significantly cheaper that the 64.

Pros:

-Not as popular so it is more special than having a 1080.

-Blast the 1080 to pieces in games with good DX12 implementation

-If you live in somewhere cold, it can warm you up much better than a 1080.

 

Cons:

-Rare and HBM means expensive.

-If you live in somewhere not cold, it will make you uncomfortably hot.

-Another 100w on the power supply capacity is a must, 200w extra recommended.

-They are either big or carry a radiator around.

-1080 wins while costing less power and money in many DX11 games and those with botched on DX12 support

-Overclocking makes all the cons twice as bad, while frame rates dont go up all that much.

-Only a tiny bit faster than the 56

Wow I actually thought it would run cooler than the fe because me 1080 warms my room up pretty bad so if it can make it warmer than a 1080 that is a no no for me (gets really hot here during the summer)

Yea I paid 550 for my 1080 i was just hoping it would be close to ti level with the vega b uh t Cleary it isn't.

that's the 275w power draw doing it, compared to 1080 FE's 180w.

Recording with AMD’s “Shadowplay” made games really laggy for me. Clicking on multiple buttons in Radeon software made the program not respond and I couldn’t watch videos in full screen with “shadowplay” running in the background (browser would crash).
