Trying to host a game server, stuck at portforwarding

Danish Bacon

Hello all you wanderfull people. So first let me explain the setup.

A fiber cable comes through the wall and connects to what i guess is a modem.

Then a cable is run from this modem to a (unmaneged) switch, my pc is connected to this switch.

Then for wifi a cable is run from the switch to the router.

Now, since my pc isnt connected to a Router theres no control panel to port forward in. I have tried connecting my PC to the router but no luck.

So tell me, what do i need to do? i was thinking of connecting the modem directly to the modem and the connecting the switch to the router. Would this work?

You have  a router here. My guess is its the same box as the moden and its a 2 in 1 box. Look up your gateway in network settings, thats probably the ip of the router.

No thats not the problem, i have two seperate boxes, a router and a "modem", it says residential gateway on it if that helps. I tried connecting my pc directly to the router, and tried accesing it with the default gateway adress, nothing apeared.

the residential gateway has a web page for port forwarding.

Network diagram of the router?

You should probalby remove the router.

Tried connecting my pc directly to the modem, no web gui. So no settings, seems like its dumb.

I have connected the modem to the router and then that to the switch, could it be that the switch is messing things up?
