NF-A12x25: interview with Lars Strömbäck (Noctua CTO)

WoodenMarker

It looks like NF-A12x25's are coming soon.

I was reading some articles that have since been hidden.

If they ever come back up, here were the links:

https://noctua.at/en/nf-a12x25-performance-comparison-to-nf-f12-and-nf-s12a

https://noctua.at/en/nf-a12x25-technical-backgrounds

https://noctua.at/en/nf-a12x25-interview-lars-stromback

I really hope they go back up. The technical backgrounds article was a fascinating read.

Edit: They went back up on release--as predicted! :)

From the interview:

Quote

All things considered, we’re confident that the NF-A12x25 is the best 120mm fan currently available.  --Lars Strömbäck (Noctua CTO)

This is a bold statement and I'm HYPED. Previous Noctua fans have had clear drawbacks. NF-F12's have relatively rough tonal acoustics. NF-S12A's are only optimal in few select situations. NF-P12's are good but rarely the best.

I only had the interview tab left open so here's what I could save.

looks really good. I'd like to see the same tech in one of their 140mm fans.

TBH tho I'm happy with all the fans I bought from them. Quality is just unmatched...

I mean I could complain about the colors but to me it's worth it lol

Still disappointed that they don't make more colours available.

What colors do you want? Their Chromax line is black with replaceable rubber corners.

No I am just sad that you have to buy them extra. Seems like their scheme though. "buy our very nice cooler with fans that match nothing else (except for linus's candy build) and buy our black fans". Why not just include plain black fans or at least let people choose if they want noctua white&shit or black.

Other than that they great and a great company.

Nah, the original noctua colors are just great marketing. There isn't brand of fans that's nearly as recognizable.

Oh wow, these look pretty good. Curious to see the final product / price.

I wonder how they will compare to the competition (the BeQuiet Silent Wings 3 is a great fan)

It's crazy how much R&D went into these fans though.
