Intel Core i7 8086K

NumLock21

Intel is said to be making another anniversary cpu, just like their Pentium G3258 which celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Pentium name.  This time Intel is celebrating their 40th anniversary of the 8086 with a Intel Core i7 8086K. This anniversary cpu, will be on the Coffee Lake architecture, a 6 core 12 thread running at 4GHz and 5GHZ turbo boost. No words on release date or pricing.

5Ghz turbo boost? That's really impressive.

I might pick one up at some point just to have one, the same way I would one of the 5th Gen chips.

Also, you need a link to your source. :)

Yes.

The speed can easily be obtained by overclocking one of their current CPU's of the same generation.

But will an 8700k sell for as much as this will in the future?

Oh also I'd love to see a G8008 that's overclockable.

Guess that's good for the normies who want an ez 5GHz. Even if it's just a single core.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. It won't turbo to 5GHz on all 6 cores, that's a fire hazard. It'll be something like..
6 - 4.7GHz

5 - 4.8GHz

4 - 4.8GHz

3 - 4.9GHz

2 - 5GHz

1 - 5GHz

Where the number is the number of active cores.

Also watch as this gets a minute long segment on the WAN show.
