"Solved" Sort option

One thing I would like to see in either advanced search or topic search is an option to filter all threads marked as "Solved" only. I believe it's not already as I have been searching for the better part of half an hour and haven't found the option any where. Searching "Solved" as a keyword is fine except it brings up a lot of unnecessary content as well.

This is good one. That option should be added to activity streams as well. It would help for those looking on topics which still require help, and doesn't aid thread snipers in their menacing habits.

Actually, IPS doesn't even have a "marked as solved" option out-of-the-box. :P

 

(Which is why I don't think that this is going to be easy to implement)

Unfortunately, this ^

 

Filtering by solved would make a lot of sense, but it's not really possible to make any changes like that because there are no suitable hook points.

Darn IPS :P Ah well. A nice thing to have but if it's not possible now I guess that's it :( We'll have to wait and see if they ever decide it's something good

Would it be possible to add tags automatically when topic is marked solved/locked/pinned? That way those tags could be searched.

You can filter by locked/pinned, but it's not very intuitive - click "Sort By", then "custom".

It's not possible to automatically tag though.

^ They're the developers of the forum software that we use here. In general, if you have a good suggestion they ignore it, or occasionally half-heartedly implement it so it feels like with only a couple more hours work it could have been really good.
