Yep, I leave TDP to cooler manufactures and move right along to getting actual figures :)

The X299 i9 series exceed their TDP only by a noticeable margin  when the motherboard alters the boost clocks i.e. "Multicore enhancement". Most boards do this, probably at the request of Intel in order to achieve higher benchmark results.

When overclocked there is no arguing the TDP will be left behind - i9 7980XE @ 800+W.
