Most people that whine when a new CPU/GPU comes out have their current ones blow up catastrophically making there current setup literally unusable.

Still rocking here with my i7-4770 and GTX780 and Intel can shove their 9700K 8cores deeply and madly in their rectum.

Way too late to make 6/8cores mainstream, Shittel. A lot of games won't utilize the full 8cores which renders the 8cores pretty useless.

8cores are only good for video/encoding shit and other media that requires moar coares!!11!

ryzen is still down on IPC performance that /little/ bit tho.

I really wanted them to beat Intel for once. but it's still a great value.

oh wow now this is a discovery O_O

How did this 20 thing even start, heard rumours nv doesn't like the number 11? Quite funny. Already saw an 1180 shroud in a private tech display of a prebuilt, drop the rumours.

just got a 8700k upgrading from a 4770k. Who is 8c/16t for? I get that pushing more cores is towards general improvement of quality power and performance, but software/coding-wise its getting more difficult to utilise all of these threads in games, and it's not only because of APIs (even the Vulkan and D3D12) but the fundamental way all game engines are designed currently. CPUs for gaming need one thing - really fast sequential calculations.

Anyone using workstation workloads that can take advantage of as many cores as possible

OR

Anyone gaming and streaming simultaneously on the same PC, something AMD touted when the R7 series was released.
