I need help! I dont get fps by lowering res.

So in csgo (Also in fortnite and other games) when i lower my resolution from 1920x1020 to even 1024x720 or even to 640x480 i dont get anymore fps than in 1920x1020 and my settings are low.

When i had msi GT710 i got huge fps boost when lowering resolution. Would it be my CPU ? Or what ? And yes i deleted the old drivers when i got the new card and dowloaded the newest ones.

in csgo fps benchmark average is about 90fps In ALL resolutions. [With gtx 750]

Heres my specs:

CPU: Intel Core i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz (Dual Core)

RAM: 8,00Gt Dual-Channel DDR3

GPU: ASUS GTX 750 OC 1GB

PSU: 320W

If want more specs just ask...

Some answers? i need help :(

-Moved to Troubleshooting-

Your CPU shouldn't bottleneck a GTX 750. Perhaps someone a little more informed that matter can correct/confirm this.

I would list other things during the benchmarking:
CPU usage (per core if possible)
Memory Usage
Video Memory Usage
Temps of the CPU and GPU

gotta have a more complete picture to see what the bottleneck may be

Main Rig: R9 5950X @ PBO, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR4 3666, InWin 101, Full Hardline Watercooling

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...

This sounds like there is a frame rate limiter running? Somewhere in the settings for the game or steam or your GPU there will be a setting for a maximum frame rate. It sounds like that setting is set to 90 for you so even when you give your pc more resources to use it cant utilize them. You can change that to whatever number you want or unlock it but running low intensity games with the max frame rate unlocked is kind of wasteful.

Anyway, just my 2 cents

temps were good, but was the performance limited in the same way (not fully utilizing the hardware)?

Under normal operation without bottlenecks or thermal issues, your GPU would be pegged close to 100% usage, while your CPU isn’t. What’s not clear here is whether that is happening. What you need to provide are:

1- FULL specs including ram configuration and timings; mismatched ram can cause issues

2- benchmarks with CPU and GPU usage/thermals and FPS. You can use MSI afterburner or CAM for this. CPUID can give helpful information too

3- actual game settings you’re using including obscure options such as scaling

things that can slow things down:

1- FPS limiter somewhere including vsync

2- thermal throttling of GPU or CPU

3- CPU bottlenecks

4- incompatible ram sticks

5- bad driver installation (can try to fix by using DDU to remove and then reinstall)

although common sense states lower resolution = more FPS this doesn’t always happen if the CPU is too weak to drive the GPU; like attaching a 6 liter V8 to a two speed gearbox... will it run sure, will you get to >100mph? Probably not

AMD Ryzen 3950x under a Noctua D15S, 32 Gb G Skill FlareX 3200 DDR4 running at 3200 CL14, Gigabyte Aorus Pro 570 Wifi, Gigabyte 2070 Super hooked to a Dell U2718Q 4k HDR monitor & an Acer 1440p 144hz IPS panel of some kind, an Inland 1 TB M.2 PCIE 4 main drive, a Samsung NVME M.2 250Gb, WD Blue 500Gb  and 1 TB SSDs, Corsair RMX750, Rainbows and butterflies...

i think its because of i have dirrerent rams i have 4b some shit ram and 4gb of some good ram so should i uninstall the 2slow ones and use only the 1x4gb faster ram ?

didnt help i try to put back the 2old ones and remove the faster one now

nope, it wasnt because of mixed ram... wtf is wrong with my pc lol

You’re acting haphazardly. Run a game with MSI afterburner recording in the background, provide specs, and show the settings you’re using.

Would it be possible that i dont get more fps by lowering res because i use gtx 750 in pci-e 2.0 slot ?

Depends on how many lanes are provided by that particular 2.0 slot. It would be a whole lot more useful if you provide the information I asked for rather than all this conjecture for me and others to be able to provide any semblance of useful information and feedback.

Sry i forgot the whole thing but the thing is that my CPU usage only gets to about 72%

and gpu gets only to 40% Res (1280x960) But when i switch to full hd resolution they get much higher so how i can fix that ?

The only way we can help is by you providing more information. Ideally a full parts list (Use CPUID for that), a screen capture of MSI Afterburner statistics while you're running the games you're interested in; This would provide thermals, FPS, actual CPU and GPU usage. The settings you're using. Pictures of the interior of your PC so we can figure if you need to move things around.

Without knowing your exact setup, it's hard to troubleshoot.

Ideally you never want a GPU in a limited bandwidth slot. On modern PCs you'd throw it in a PCIE 3.0 X 16 slot, X8 at a minimum. I'm not sure what Motherboard you're on, and hence can't figure out the bandwidth available to the card.
