*Leaked* Asrock is making desktop graphic cards after all (confirmed with products links inside!)

It has stupid weird lines and angles all over the place, are they targeting kids?

Of course they are, it turns out that people with lots of time to spare and an interest in graphical fidelity are often kids. Older gamers typically don't care about the card's looks either way, so they market to the demographic that might care. In the end it's most likely going to be face down in a windowless case, so it doesn't really matter (rx series customers usually don't have the budget to chase looks, though there are exceptions).

Looks like so, hopefully that will bring more competition on the AMD GPUs and the prices will drop somehow.

Asrock is known to have great stuff with very decent pricing.

I didn't notice, but then I am more interested in product marketing and place than I am in the actual hardware.  I get excited about the specifics when they become an actual option to buy for me.

So does this confirm that we won't get the 7nm vega refresh until after then?

7nm isn't ready till late this year and any large scale production will probably wait till 2019.

7nm Vega will be for enterprise only* anyway so not gonna be of any interest to consumers. Consumers will wait for Navi.

*subject to change if it suddenly makes sense due to yields and/or lack of enterprise sales

btw 7nm vega shouldn't be too expensive when 7nm yields become reasonable as it will be around 250mm^2, the most expensive part will probably be the hbm and packaging/interposer

Errrr....Good luck finding a windowless case though! Unless you buy an ultra cheap case or the fractal core 1000/1100, you’ll always get a window. It’s kind of annoying because most of these windows are made out of super scratch prone acrylic. I’d rather have a solid side panel to be honest. I would actually kill to get an NZXT S340 without a side window. It would look so clean.

I would just like to point out that AsRock and ASUS are technically owned by the same corporate overlord, IIRC. With ASUS' ROG line now paying protection to the GeForce mafia, AsRock's Phantom Gaming line is quite possibly a response to GPP to ensure that the corporate overlord still has a presence in the AMD gaming market. That's amplified by the other brands that have pulled their gaming lineup from AMD.

Things have changed since the last time I went looking for a case :P either way many kids are upgrading hand-me-down systems or prebuilts, which are often windowless. Even with a window, a face down card isn't really that impressive to look at unless it has some insane rgb backplate.

I would like to see other vendors implement an RGB top-plate like EVGA has. The data is gives is easy to learn after a while and can be customized to use the same range of colors for all sets of data rather than setting the logo to be the only thing that changes.
