Which graphics card is more bang for the buck Asus Strix GTX 1070 Ti or MSI GTX 1080 Armour 8G OC?

Most likely the Ti since you can OC it to very near the performance of the 1080 but it's a fair bit cheaper.

Performance difference is minimal.

 

MSI's armor cooler has a hard time keeping the 1080 cool without being noisy, so it's not good unless you plan on fitting a custom cooler like a liquid AIO or big heatsink.

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

Nice that you asked @kerradeph I’m waiting for volta series but if the prices are too high then this will be my backup cards. Im very desperate to build a gaming rig because I have a very outdated laptop which is good for nothing.

I know as I watched linus’s video but I’m getting both the cards at same, prices there’s only 10bucks difference.

I think the Strix is a more effective cooler than the Armour so it should be a bit quieter.
