Two Gamers One GPU/PC

Is there a way to do this without using unraid? I've tried Hyper V which has great Vgpu support but no usb pass through and I've tried VMware Workstation Pro 14 which has usb and audio pass through but shitty Vgpu support. I'm on Win 10 Pro with an enterprise key. I'm thinking about going to Ubuntu or other types of Linux stuff in order to do this. Linux seems kinda cool.

Have you tried windows server 2016 with multipoint?

 

But normally you can't do this easily with normal gpu's due to how the software works.

 

What gpu do you have?

 

Linux won't be any better here.

Havent heard of this but i will definitely check it out. Also, I have a gtx 780, but I'm pretty sure using it as a vgpu should work.

780 doesn't have any features to split it, like the teslas and grid cards do.

 

There really isn't a easy way to do this well. multipoint lets multiple people use one system at once, but your limited by the gpu capabilities of rdp.

Also, how do these guys here and here get good gpu performance in VMware Workstation? I tried 14 pro and in 12 compatibility mode, but my fps in games were terrible.

What vm settings are you using? Im guessing thats part of the issues

yep, but then you get problems with vt-d, and that may be a problem with your ryzen chip you listed.

I used 8gb of ram with 4 cores and a 150gb drive

how much vram did you give it, also id just try giving it 16 threades just in case.

Yeah i gave it 8gb of ram. My total ram in the host is 16gb. There is only number of procs and number of cores that I can change. Idk if it counts thread as cores or if it gives the same amount of cores and threads like hyper v.

there is a settings for vram, what is that set to.

1gb. I've tried with 2gb and got the same result. Also, I am reinstalling right now to test it again since I had uninstalled this morning because Hyper V and this software don't play nice.

and im assuming your have the guest tools installed and 3d accerlation on, right?

 

Could be a os or gpu problem, not too much you can do, virtual gpu's were never made for good performance.

Alright so now in the VMware software I'm getting great FPS in Rocket League and now I'm gonna try out fortnite.

Update: It seems that on Fortnite I am having video memory problems. I don't have these problems on the host machine and I have tried 1gb and 2gb vram. It seems to be a UE4 problem as others have had this problems as well. So in conclusion, some games suck ass on VMs, but other games are great.

1. Download VMware Workstation pro 14

2. Install it and get a key online

3. Set it up like a regular computer

4. Install ya games and see if they work

Yes I know that, I mean getting games that require some gpu to work, beacuse changing the vRam wont do anything, wodnering about those guests tolls and so
