4K 60Hz vs 1440P 144Hz

DisconnectedYT

I cant seem to find a single 4K 144Hz monitor that is under $1000AUD, is this just me being dumb or are there really no monitors that high?

If so should i just get a 1440P 144Hz monitor instead? I play lots of games and really wanted a 4K monitor but i dont know how bad a 60Hz monitor will be compared to a 144Hz, i dont play games super competitive but i guess it would still be good, i also do a bit of workstation stuff so 4K would have also been good. Anyone have any suggestions?

Monitor im thinking of buying

I will be running a 1080ti or a 2080ti if that becomes a thing so 4K 60FPS should be not problem.

You won't be able to run 4k144 with a single 1080ti anyways and probably not even with a portential 2080ti. You should just go out any try both. I prefer 60hz gaming with higher resolution over 144hz with lower resolution but 1440p is already pretty sweet and will be able to play nicely with a 1080ti.

I honestly think 1440P is the sweet spot for gaming currently. High enough pixel density that at a decent distance you can't see any pixels but also not too demanding on the GPU. I unfortunately only have a 60Hz 1440p monitor but will be investing in a high refresh rate 1440p panel soon.
Go higher refresh rate 1440P over 4k.

Can you find a single 144Hz 4K panel right now at any price?
