How do i use 2 monitors on a msi geforce 1050ti

Hi i have a 105ti and i am wondering if i am capeable of having 2 monitrs it has a hdmi and a display port can i buy a displayport to hdmi dongle thing and have 2 monitors?

I am fairly familiar with the tech lingo so dont be afraid to talk "techy" but i am looking for a yes or a no answer and why and i am curious if my rig is up to par on the high quality gaming 1050ti 8gb ddr3 ram 1tb stroage

Of course you can use two displays. Why wouldn’t you?

You should be able to use ALL the ports on it... I think you have three. so three monitors

i mean, gaming on two at once probably not, but just pushing pixels for media consumption a 1050Ti would handle easily!

Yes.

HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI can all use passive adapters to convert to/from any one of them to any one of the others.

Get the adapters you need and go for it.

Yeah, I'm gonna call BS.

My wife uses 3 monitors on a GTX 950 just fine.

The only caveat is that when gaming, she only uses a single monitor for it rather than anything that stretches the game across all screens.

 

What matters is what you are using the monitors for.

For normal desktop use you're fine. Use all the monitors you can get.

If they're all 1080p monitors, you have nothing to worry about.

 

For gaming, just limit the output to a single monitor. (This is the default behavior, so it's not like you have to make any effort to limit games to a single display).
