A AMD ATHLON 64 with no or little bent pins.

A AMD ATHLON 64 FX with no or little bent pins.

A AMD SEMPRON with no or little bent pins.

I know it isn't amazing but I thought it was amazing that the pins weren't bent completely.

im certain it would have to be 10mb or more, even my ibm ps/2 model 30 from 1987 had a 20mb HDD

i think some of the first true hard drives even were around 5mb

I wonder if he got it confused with a 720k 3.5" floppy?  even back then, because they weren't as "floppy" as a 5.25 or 8" diskette, many people thought they were "hard drives"

The bottom of the two sound cards is a Turtle Beach https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Turtle_Beach_Corporation#/Sound_cards

Most likely a TURTLE BEACH MULTISOUND TBS 2-HL https://www.thefullwiki.org/Turtle_Beach_Systems#wikipedia_Brands

The card above is a TerraTec AudioSystem EWS64 XL - Sound card - 16-bit - 48 kHz - stereo - ISA - Cirrus Logic CS 4236B Series

Oh man remember these things?

5b51705d3c984_voodoo2.jpg.d7caacfbc488732dc1c7a062b30a10ac.jpg

I had these voodoo 2 beasts paired up with a pentium 3!

That was like top of the line. I absolutely loved that system.

My specs currently are still really outdated if you wanna take a look ;)

My current code projects

--------------------------------

  • C#/OpenGL ( using OpenTK graphics library API ) KnightsRealm ( unfinished, WIP plan on releasing on steam maybe a mobile port idk ) 2d topdown pixel art based game with medieval themes, sorcery, dragons, open world
  • C++ crypter ( if your into cryptography, I plan on releasing this on my website later :P
  • C#/OpenGL ( OpenGL for UI ) fan/light controller for my room w/ raspberry pi and some mechanical motors and stuff :D

Current repair projects

------------------------------

  • My dreadful receiver ( a capacitor blew )
  • working on a PC from a client, CPU died within the system, seems like a short, replaced CPU and awaiting payment before I ship it back
  • my old 1tb sas drive for my NAS, some blemishes or something on the PCB need to clear that back out, if it doesn't work i'll need to scrap it ( already backed up all my stuff thankfully )

If you want any software made, or stuff to be repaired give me an email!

Retro computers?  My alley!

sDhF7Ez.jpg

IBM PS/2 Model 25, heavily modified..  8086 CPU (V30 upgraded), 640KB RAM, 2GB IDE SSD (on a home made XT-IDE card), VGA graphics wired to the internal analog monochrome CRT, and lastly, a DOS/Unix hybrid I have been working on for some time now.  Oh, and it has an Ethernet adapter on the parallel interface, so it does get on the Internet for IRC and FTP access (and HTTP access for retrieving files), oh and telnet of course..  Works good still after all these years.

:Lovely PS/2!!   i have a PS/2 model 30 that i plan on putting a v30 in.  bought a few (one for my tandy 1000) just haven't had a chance to install and test.  Need to find some good DOS benchmark apps so i can get a real understanding of how much better the V30 is.

I also have a PS/1 in the same form factor as yours.  I love how compact they are. it's great when you collect retro rigs to have machines like these so you can squeeze them in.

My young 9-year old brother after I gave him a 5960X mobo and GTX 770 from the E-waste bin of luck (the same one where I found my GV100 workstation): "That's so OLD! Why can't I get anything new?!"

Bear in mind I gave him a VERY good air cooler as well and there were like no bottlenecks.

Then I pulled out a good old 8086 and told him I could disable 7 cores and hyperthreading if he kept complaining. I work hard to find these components.

With that attitude he doesn't deserve anything honestly.

The only really "old" hardware in that list in the GTX 770, which is still a fairly capable GPU.

I'd love that to compare that to the 2600X I'm stuffing in my system.

Old stuff like this fascinates me.

Well, my 4600+ got a whopping 95CB in Cinebench R15, so with the extra 600MHz the 6000+ has you'll probably get around 105...

I'm trying to get an emulator running on an emulator running on an emulator running on Windows 7. Any ideas?

Well, off the top of my head, you can emulate an amiga via WinUAE in windows 7.

then on the amiga you emulate a 68k mac  (i believe an emulator exists)

then on the 68k mac you can run ][ in a mac which will emulate an apple II.

which should be pretty interesting..

Finally got around to playing with my old CPUs. This is a screen grab from a video I'm working on. 180nm and 150nm goodness!

Internet points to whoever can guess what these are. Hint: each is from a different CPU manufacturer :D

Intel P-III, AMD Thunderbird or Duron and a Cyrix. Might be a PPC from Motorola / IBM :D
