You could use it as a server or as a spare computer (I'm doing both, a server for my Xbox and as a way to use the internet/create boot disks when my main computer is having problems). Depending on the HDD you use dual Pentium III EB 1000 are fast enough for doing most tasks.

I was thinking of putting Xubuntu on it, if I can get it running and having a basic machine. I'll probably add a SATA controller.

Just install XP. You'll have better driver support and only Puppy Linux/Macpup are lighter. Even Lubuntu 10.04lts was heavier than a fresh install of XP.

To say it's old is a bit of a stretch, but I have an Sparkle NVIDIA Geforce 9400 GT.

We put it into my old desktop just to actually make it be able to do something. The card still lives, somehow, but I can't find the box which the card is in. But I'm sure if you Googled it you'd find an image of it.

Lol, just because I've got a motherboard that's doing some hefty overclocking even though its 14 years old......and is still able to connect to the Internet over Wifi of all things.....

You would not believe how many of those I've got lying around. And 1 of them is an ISA card that also came with a webcam.

I'm just DYING of anticipation from getting my dual-PIII board. Unfortunately, I only have a lone 1GHz PIII and a 256MB PC133 CL3? stick of RAM for it. Want to get another PIII (duh) and a decent amount of RAM and throw my X1650 Pro (assuming the board has XP drivers) in for an old gaming rig. Some games just don't work well on my rig.

If you pay for postage, I'll send you my spare (and no longer needed) Pentium III EB 1000 and also spare and no longer needed 512MB PC133 SDRAM stick (I'll have to re-test though, I know that I've got 2 faulty 512MB sticks and I can't remember if the Samsung module is the good one). If you've got slots to spare I could also send 1 of my matching 2x128MB PC133 SDRAM kits, 1 set is Kingston and the other set Amicro.

BTW, there is a present that you can download if you check my status-you'll find it very useful for your old computers and/or programs.

I run it on my rig. Ran the fucker at 4K on a GTX 480. Think my max utilization on it was like 20% with like 50% or something like that on my CPU.

I have an old copper-full motherboard. Can anyone tell me which Pentium processor this is?

That is the original Pentium. I think they ran in the 60Mhz-90Mhz range.

Sadly, no mobo inside. Of course, it was used. Also, googled them and found out they are totally extinct. Not only do they not have a website anymore, they don't even have a wikipedia page or any mention. Wow.

A Geforce FX5500 GPU (AGP, 256MB DDR, DX9, also it's a Palit card.):
