A true nightmare, you do that once for fun then realize it isn't and hope nobody makes you do it again :P

I mean for just 2gb of DDR it's not bad lol I'm just surprised it works. I should keep looking around for more old stuff

The old X850 XT did not operate that way. The fan is enclosed and pulls air from the rear of the card, across the heatsink and forces it out the I/o plate.

Interesting, I've never seen one like that before.

It works, but it's loud AF (although not as loud as an FX 5800) it belts out a good amount of noise on boot up. A lot of ATi and nVidia's high end cards from that era had similar style coolers, Sapphire X1900s had them too for instance, as did the leafblower I mentioned earlier, the FX 5800.

why are they selling a shet card for this much

Nostalgia I guess? Collectors? I doubt they'd ever get that much for it. FX series cards were shit even when they were new, especially the 5800.

I accidentally once booted a PC with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with 512MB RAM. And it actually worked fine until I tried starting a browser, so I checked and saw how little RAM it actually had. I had forgotten than I had removed most of the RAM.

I love these old shrouds, they don't fit with any components but they draw all the attention.

I'll see if I can grab a picture of my 9600GT

I kinda like the old tan motherboards. There was one that I can't remember who made it, but it almost looked like it was painted with matte tan. Honestly a super sexy board.

I still have a working E7500 CPU with me along with Lenovo's motherboard for it. Also, I have tons of IDE drives, some of which are still working. Floppys, CD discs, all kinds of DDR sticks from 1st to DDR4. I have a GT7600, 8400GS, 9400GT, 9500GT, GTX 9800 :) some of them won't work.

Intel Core i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz - Intel Stock Cooler - Zotac Geforce GT 610 2GB Synergy Edition

Intel DH61WW - Corsair® Value Select 4GBx1 DDR3 1600 MHz - Antec BP-300P PSU

WD Green 1TB - Seagate 2.5" HDD 1TB - Seagate Barracuda 500GB - Antec X1 E.

Intel 486SX 25MHz

And my pride and joy the original IBM XT, with a whopping 4.77 MHz processor, 512Kb of RAM and 20MB hard drive.. I’ll open it up when I have some time to show the innards :)
