Just in case you weren’t aware Audeze is launching a new headphone that is focused in gaming and movies. 

 

It’s an indiegogo campaign but Audeze is a pretty solid company.

 

These are planar magnetic Bluetooth headphones with head tracking for 3D sound. Hard to explain.

 

There are some at $250 usd, and I think it’s a good price. I heard a prototype and it was pretty good.

I am a fan of anything that tries to improve headphone imaging. Hopefully with Audeze backing it, more audiophiles will embrace hrtfs.

The problem is just that audeze is normal shit quality. Like many of their 1k+ headphones are so poorly made that the connector for the cable has broken off/fallen out of dome, the hinge is also seen breaking under normal usage, the cups have cracked  and a lot more.

 

You can go out and buy two pairs of the same headphone and they will sound nothing alike, hell even the same headphone can have way different sound in each side. So yeah...

 

I wouldn't hold my breath if you are hoping for a well made product.

I hope that they don't have many of their usual build quality issues and that they actually can pair drivers well now.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

I know they had some issues, but AFAIK they solved them under warranty. I’ve two pairs of headphones from them and they have good sound and good build quality. I’ve also seen a pair of LCD2s that was like 8 years old still in good condition and working. They’ve had some mistakes but their costumer service will take care of you if something goes wrong.

Eh, I thought Creative has the edge on positional and surround gaming with their new chip, or am I mistaken?

IIRC Sennheiser was "the best" for surround? i heard the gsx1000, quite okay imo but the price is a HELL NAW..
