i want to make it better.. if you could help me with colors and just ideas for me to improve upon!

also: it is no where near done so the links don't do anything now.

I would say work on the colors... and have a more inviting and easier to navigate website

Too many weird colors makes it kind of look like old vehicles and water craft especially when they thought retro was cool..

1. Work on your colour coordination. A basic colour wheel works wonders. Also search for "web-safe colours" - those generally look a lot better on webpages. 

2. Too much padding above the banner and below the footer. Ideally, you want both to be glued to the top/bottom with a little bit of padding (10px or 1em should do).

3. Don't go overboard with the hover effects. Keep it simple. A colour change works if both the default colour and the hover colour work well with the background. 

4. Subtler borders on everything. Mess around with transparency for this one. You could also try shadows for the borders, with a gradient. I've done that with CSS3 before.

5. Spacing between navigation. Too much is bad. You want them right next to each other, ideally. Use padding to add spacing between the text.
