nVidia GeForce Partner Program: Well Intention Marketing or Anti-Competitive

The problem isn't with the advertising if there is even a problem, and noted the company must agree to do this, so there is no problem.  Its with nV wanted that as a requisite to the GPP.

So if I read what you are saying, it's that it is perfectly legal for a large company to tell one of the companies that they supply a component for that either they join a 'partnership' which may put the large companies competition at a disadvantage or not join the partnership, in which case the large company will effectively penalize the smaller company economically...

No it will be illegal if it hurts them with their current on going contracts, like with Pascal.  Since they have already gotten certain allocation amounts and are expecting those amounts and they are procuring other parts based on those expectations.

But we know Pascal is EOL, with Volta, or what ever its called there must be new contracts.  So they can say at that point sorry we aren't going to sell to you anymore.  They can give the BS reason that since your brand has other products that don't match up well with what this new card can do we can't let you water down our brand.

That does not explain why you still see 1050's with Gaming X versions but not anything from AMD. In fact if you look at MSI's product page for GPU's you'll find that all older and current AMD cards which had Gaming X versions have been removed. You can find them by searching manually for the product name using the search bar but they are hidden from the sort functionality. When it comes to the RX 580 you'll find instead of the Gaming X versions that there are Armor MK2 cards.

There was a thread in this section, some time ago, about MSI launching the Armor MK2. I remember most of the comments were "Why this? Why now?", as it was way after the RX 5xx release, in the middle of a massive GPU shortage.

Maybe we know the answers now?

It is legal to provide incentives to sellers of your product to follow branding guidelines, other companies do not factor into it as it is an opt in policy and does not ban sale of competitor products, the partners just have to have different branding on their Nvidia products to differentiate. Which means they could use new branding if they wanted to however none of them are going to do so as it is more profitable to use the bigger brand on Nvidia's products.

In other words it is legal because they aren't directly doing anything to stifle competition directly and the indirect affect has a plausible (and imo valid) reasoning (ie these cards look the same, Joe Smoe won't know the difference)

Do you know when that was? I mean the Armor MK2 seems to be AMD exclusive so it makes sense.

My hat is off to you sir.  That is the one.  I spent hours searching forums, googling all sorts of part numbers and what not.  I appreciate the effort.  It's just a shame it's not worth the price of the parts to repair.   I need a schematic to fix this one :(

This is getting awfully close to spamming, but here is the schematic for the mikrotig 200 one) The forums say they are the same

http://s48.radikal.ru/i122/1208/53/14e9877fff49.jpg

And just to be sure, they recommend you check the pcb for the part number, should be base 5680 or bas 5679) and both are also attached, since i have no clue which is in the link and not even close to understanding them)

edit: and full user manual, just to boot) https://mnogo-dok.ru/instrukcii/sendvalues/50224/Дом+и+дача/Сварочное+оборудование/Awelco/MIKROTIG+150/

To drive the point home: if there is a product, there is product info. The AIBs wont remove the existing cards, they might hide them at best, but they are gonna stay. Not having them sold through tier1 retailers is way bigger indicator then having product pages

It looks like the next model, so it is likely that is is for all intents and purposes as a product the same.  It may even be identical on the inside (I'll have to manually check components and start tracing routes to find that out though).
