Double clicking on the script should work as well for most people.

Ok, lemme try that.

Ugh as someone who has to admin Windows servers every day it drives me insane... IIS with .NET applications (2.0 - 4.5) is asking for headaches at times. 4.7.x isn't as bad, but can still be annoying and .NET Core is generally OK after .NET Core 2

To be honest containers has made admin a lot less of a headache, don't have to worry as much about babysitting the OS

It's Ubuntu, it's pretty user friendly.

'Ubuntu, Linux but with training wheels' - that should be their slogan cause that's basically what it is.

I'll make sure python3 is installed, not sure if it is by default then run the same script on son of foldy puff jr so it can stay busy in the basement as soon as my network switch comes and I run the cabling. I don't trust a USB wifi dongle for long term stability.

I can get WUs for my i7-9700, but my TU106M......nope

But hey, at least after another round of uninstall > reinstall > redownload GPUs.txt > restart system....it's showing the GPU name and not gpu:1:xxx or whatever it was showing before.

According to the forums, I'm not the only one with this issue with the new version either.

The casual user isn't going to take much time to fix the undetected GPU thing....

7.6.9 is the current newest version.

If you are having issues I have heard that uninstalling and removing all data and temp files will usually solve the issue.

Also, if you are having issues getting WUs try the beta flag and see if you get one, if not there is a bigger issue, if you do then you know it is just the fact that the network is still under extreme levels of strain.

I've tried everything, including replacing various files from my known good install, reinstalling the whole thing, playing with permissions, running it in admin mode. I feel like there is something super simple that I'm missing....

Only thing I can suggest is, reboot, Revo uninstaller it, reboot, reinstall it, reboot, and see if that works.  Revo can clean up random stuff that gets left behind. Past that you've tried everything I've thought of.

If you don't like touching the registry much, do safe mode. Otherwise do the medium setting on cleanup and do a eyeball check on anything to make sure it hasn't picked up anything outside its purview.

Will just let it do whatever, Foldatron only has folding running on her atm as I'm planning a migration to some form of GNU/Linux after the BOINC event so if it gets fucked up I will just do a clean win10 install. And if that don't fix her nothing will

At least your issue probably isn't a bad MB for the first time I've seen in my decent time building and tinkering with PCs. That was an unexpected source of issues.

I mean this motherboard has so many issues it's unreal. Corrupted BIOS chips, ordered some replacements and hoping that will end the issue I have where it takes 5-10 times of clearing the CMOS before it boots.
