Starting January 1st, 2021, we will be handing out awards based on new higher folding badge thresholds. These new values have been decided due to the increase of power a GPU can provide; this has made it much easier to achieve badges in recent years. Anyone holding a current badge will be grandfathered in! This means you won't have your badge downgraded after the new thresholds come into effect.    F@H Badge Thresholds In order to be rewarded with the Folding @ Home badge, please

Alright. This one I blame on @Ithanul got these today at curb-side pickup at my local bricks and mortar Computer Store in preparation for the BOINC Penathlon. They'll be put to use folding to burn them in in the mean time. The 9900K is replacing a Pentium Gold 5400 in a Aorus z370 Gaming5 and the 3900x is replacing the 2700 in a Aorus x570 Pro WiFi

I guess im glad my GPUs were busy during the event and nothing now, but its crazy the difference it causes.  I barely had to do any babysitting and was getting 5-6mil PPD, now struggling to get 1mil with both GPUs sitting idle all the time!

Most of the last couple days has been waiting on GPU jobs but late morning and jobs have largely been coming in. I poked it a bit but that mostly didn't seem to help.  Also had a job that tried to submit to a WS that no longer exists, but it fixed itself eventually.

Upside is I get useful data on how my new CPU fan spot and mesh side panels are working. Significantly lower CPU temps with a 10% lower fan profile and the restricting panel back on which tells me a LOT on how the underside setup was working.

I did SLI for a minute before I transferred the bottom card to my other rig and sold that one.  The heat and airflow became too much of a problem.  

 

Im a huge proponent of air cooling, but with 2 beefy GPUs back to back, theres no room to breathe.  

 

The solution will be a new bottom 2080ti and a loop.  Something to do besides chores around the house while im stuck here for a few weeks!
