Yep, the same here, SETI was where it all began for me but as far as I know they are not shutting down indefinitely(unless that's been changed since I last read about it), they are simply reviewing the data processed so far. Either way, lets hope FaH gets a nice boost from it.

200m Points over the last 24 hours people, impressive as we only usually get these kinds of numbers when an event is coming up!

I really want to run the server but doing so could cause the breaker box to fail....

If anyone hears of this in the UK... you know why...

tripped power to my house the other night while all three of my main folding machines were running. 3 destroyed WU's

i found out what it was. i got a sodding cat bowl with a water pump in it because i saw it at a cat cafe and it was pretty neat. cats loved it. however, the transformer decided that it was high time to fail literally 1 week after being bought. multimeter shows continuity from the low voltage output side of the thing to the mains input as well as 15k from live to earth.

forget putting a toaster in your bathtub, who wants to drink out of a cat bowl

Damn!

This is an issue with the box itself, we are waiting for the council to come fix or replace it. Been advised to pull 1Kw at most in the meantime...

Hmm... Do I really need a stair lift? That has its own breaker box...

you only need a stair lift to go up the stairs ;)

that's an odd electrical issue to have though. perhaps they have the wrong CB installed in it for too little current? designed for a lighting ring maybe? who knows.

Hmm.... I'd need to wire a socket to it.... did basic electrical engineering in my degree though...

Don't think the council would be too happy though!

Or.... As hard as the wallet can allow for over the powerbill.

I'm hoping with the recent news about project(s) concerning the Corona virus that we'd be able to manually set our machines for that cause like you can do with Cancer, Parkinson's or Alzheimers - That would be great and I'd be all over it.

Currently have a WU with project 11714 going while posting this, I'm running a Radeon VII card and it does well enough. If I pop both of my Rad VII"s in the machine that just makes it better but then the power meter tends to gets drunk.
Here's a shot of when I did this last year after getting them when they were released in March. That's when I learned just how expensive it can be with both going.

put both in a drop the power limits down to about 70% - most people who fold long term use cards with lowered power limits as there's a large pwer draw reduction for only a minor reduction in PPD output

Could do that and if possible I'd run them under Linux too - More efficient that way.

Unfortunately this would require a roll out of a client update and changes to the server back end so it is unlikely we will see this happen. The best thing you can do if select any project in config and fold as much as you can to increase your chances of getting COVID work.

What are people’s uninformed/informed predictions about ampere? Will we likely see a significant increase in folding efficiency (like with Turing), or just an increase in brute power?
