Starting January 1st, 2021, we will be handing out awards based on new higher folding badge thresholds. These new values have been decided due to the increase of power a GPU can provide; this has made it much easier to achieve badges in recent years. Anyone holding a current badge will be grandfathered in! This means you won't have your badge downgraded after the new thresholds come into effect.    F@H Badge Thresholds In order to be rewarded with the Folding @ Home badge, please

Thanks so much man, I'm working on a few things behind the scenes but hopefully will have a new faq post to replace whalers mature one. Also have some other things planned for the new year. Right now I'm working so have limited ability to reply.

On my way home, have a small(30 mins) soldering project to complete for a customer and then have some PMs to answer if I have the time. Then I need to sort mine and my partners meds for tomorrow... Hmm... why arent there more hours in the day?

Ive got it. Next project is to slow earths rotation to make it a 27 hour days so you can get a couple hours of sleep.

Ok everyone were quitting folding for a month so we can run a distributed computing calculation of what we could do to add 2 hours to the day. lol

Once we succeed (and we will), folding month next year will be 70 hrs longer = way more points

@GOTSpectrumoh for sure I'll be enabling folding back on. When it's time to do so. I disassembled one of the cards today, assembled back and well.. it crashes after 2-10 minutes of operation. Have to mess with it a bit more I suppose. Also, my brother's desktop is folding now too, not 24/7 again but it's good anyway. And I get to replace a fan in the other card I had. Lots of work to do in maintaining department. Also some rest for ears. Some well needed rest.

I tried running the asus strix 1080ti alone today, it was folding the 14180 at just 50 degrees celcius, 30 above ambient here. No power limit, cpu at 5ghz, card frequency still 2050.

I suppose I can fold at 2076 even now when it's the only card in the system. Just because how temperature difference allows for higher clocks. It almost passed stability test in Kombustor locked to 2076 rendering at 4k.. lol

Well 6:30am, and the start of my day is here, need to do a few tasks and then I will be responding to the MANY PMs I have received over the night.

 

Hope you all have had a nice night folding, it seems my cards are lovinging the power limits and have been Folding with some decent clocks. Not checked my actual production yet.
