Overclock doesn't do much, and is typically not worth it. Many people actually reduce power target to 80% and that only loses about 5 % but with big energy savings.

that or you have a card with... questionable VRM quality/cooling

I have 80% power limit and my clock speed still ends up higher than the offical boost speed.

hmm, maybe I could try some more OC. But if I remember, in spring when I had RTX 2080, bad overclock led to not getting any jobs even with  no OC. Could it work that way?

Back in the spring there was a shortage of WU's because of the rapid increase in the number of people folding. That's not a problem at the moment.

Trying to break 3M PPD, updating my old laptop drivers (960M), will start running client on it, haven't used it for some time, maybe that will  do it.

TLDR is it's a 8 phase using doublers that even when using calculations that favor this card significantly, it is still notably less efficient than other models. This plus a rubber anti vibration pad blocking airflow over the VRM means as per GN testing means 95C on the mosfets at stock, on an open air test bench

for memory OC testing i've been having success with using unigine valley stopped on a bright frame (so you can easily see artefacts) and then dropping the memory clock back 100 from where you're having artefacts for something that should be stable in FAH

Ran Valley once with no artefacts at +1k. But folding crashed with BAD_WORK_UNIT. 

Taking down to 850 that seemed to work...
