The QRB enables once you've done X amount of work units successfully.  You don't need to run 24/7 to do that, but you don't want to fail a WU from taking too long or the like either.  So if you're going to not use it for more than a work day or overnight, press the "finish" button ahead of time first, so it'll complete the WU and then halt.  Then when you're ready to go again, hit start.

I do have it running over night. Think it takes about 2 WU, then i stop the folding once i wake up again. As in "stop" and not "finish"

Yes, that is normal since you already "stopped" = paused your WU multiple times. It got assigned to you 18.09.2020. at 5 AM and it's 19.09.2020. 2 AM if I am reading your (very bad cut tho ;) ) clock right. That means that QRB has dropped a lot since you haven't finished and reported THAT WU ASAP.

If you want to maximise your PPD, then ALWAYS let each WU finish before turning your PC off. As that will give you best QRB and most PPD. However, if you do not care about virtual points, then just fold away any way you want as long as you finish WUs before deadline (expiration for that WU specifically assigned to you is 23.09.2020.).

WUs vary in size and therefore time needed for folding each one. Some can take 45min, some can take up to 5 hours (talking about GPU WUs), depending on many factors, but size and complexity of WU is biggest factor. As I already said above, I'd recommend you to use Finish button instead of Stop if you can.

If you care about points you should always "finish". Points are rewarded based on how fast a WU is finished and returned, so anytime you pause you lose points.

No problem! Yeah, I know it was paint :D. Try using Snipping Tool next time, it's much easier.

dark mode

Each to their own.

Personally i find dark mode very hard on my eyes, very hard to concentrate and read, and it burns an image into my eyes which I can see every time I close my eyes for a while afterwards. I'm not the only one, a few people have told me that they have had similar issues.

I'm looking at your recent PPD https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=1022250  unless you have multiple devices on the go looks like you are at 600k on the average with spikes in the 1Mil range I would expect.

Daily Points Production History For Eviac

It also looks like you're not folding 24/7, so that level of variance would look normal... and the 200k your mentioning would be for a single WU not your all day PPD as seen when you look at the hourly breakdowns as a 2070 .

image.png.83c51ff16d78608bc93b569b2e69d391.png

Do you only have this one card running?  Do you fold all day or is it set to idle, or gaming, medium power etc?

Edit: Oh.. and are you folding on the CPU as well?  Cause that can bottleneck the GPU folding to the point that you loose significant GPU PPD making CPU folding pointless on certain hardware.

Just noticed now you mentioned me in this post. I have it running whenever i can, as "while working". I'd back in the day just pause the folding when i had to game on my computer, but learned the hard way now that's not ideal, at all. Yes, i fold on my CPU as well, as i've seen the LTT team say for the "good tips" part, that folding with multiple CPU's is good? Got no idea how you checked that, but my PPD now is luckily 2 mil, yet i don't have it running 24/7

Btw. I have no idea if this helps you in any way, but here's how it's running for me. I let it stay over night, and maybe do some WU's when i don't do anything on the computer anyways, but it's in no way running 24/7 :)

Seems kinda low. Was expecting at least 4-4.5m PPD since reviews are showing huge gains for rendering.

As the guy said he had only just started it going it'll take a few different WU's to get a true idea of what it will work out at.

3900x turns up today so i'm gonna be dumping some CPU work units in overnight as testing i think.

been running the 2080Ti a bit lately to keep warm too

I have mine running with a -0.1v offset and ECO mode on; doesn't seem to drop point return in a major way and well worth the reduction in heat.

gonna have to wait on it. after one unintentional boot into my old windows install and then one boot to the boot selection screen and getting part-way through the windows install, i'm now stick with a CPU LED on the whole time and no amount of fucking with RAM or reseating the CPU is helping. going to have to take apart my other ryzen machine and test things.

No diagnostic code? I went to a fresh install when I got my chip but I was also messing around with dual-booting stuff, so I dunno if you want to deal with a fresh bios (csm boot) and whatnot.

Could it be possible for FH to shutdown the PC, once it's finished with a WU? Like when it's 100% successfully completed and there's nothing else for the app to do, to upload the WU? Kinda don't wanna guess when i need to make a script to shutdown my PC. Don't like it running the entire day while working (not home)

I don't believe F@H can do it, but you should be able to write a script that sets it to "Finish" and then checks for completion before shutting down.  There's a fairly reasonable amount of info that can come out of the command line invocation of FAHClient.

As i'm no genius regarding coding. Would you have any idea, how i do that? Make a script checking if it's finished?

That will depend upon the OS you're running.  You should be able to pull portions of the babysitter script that others use for checking status and pausing/starting to instead do finishing and then issue a shutdown command once it sees the idle or paused status.
