So you're saying that even if I get another identical power supply, it wont work with my machine?

No you need a BETTER power supply not the same exact one.

But again , try some software fixes first , at least those are free to do.

Last time I asked at this local pc shop, and i wanna add that he might have tried to trick me, he told me that these small form factor hps can't have their case changed because of their different motherboard types or w.e he said. Is that true or?

are you reading any of our responses.......

that power supply is proprietary it's already been established , don't recommend someone buy something they can't even use....

If you read my whole comment, you'd see that I said to enter everything into pcpartpicker and that they may need to pick up a case too.

Of course they should upgrade that PSU.

Look at the thing :P

Okay so let's do a quick review cuz I'm confused.

So the problem is most likely my PSU. I can't buy another psu even if identical because it won't work because it's priopritary (don't really get this one but lets continue)

And I can't swap the case because then I'd be stuck with a machine without a compatiable PSU.

Also I tried the Pcpartpicker thingy, I couldn't find most of my PC parts.

I did read it , how are they supposed to use an aftermarket power supply when there nowhere to plug it into the board?

you're telling them to buy a case and power supply they can't even use.......

240 watt just not enough, the cpu alone need 95watt.

plus 65 watt for the gpu.

at least 300 watt for the whole system.

a 240 watt psu can only drive low end cpu + onboard graphic.

its a wierd form factor, but maybe this one fit:

essentially yeah , you're stuck

again , TRY SOME SOFTWARE FIXES. see if that helps.

What software fixes are you suggesting?

you could try to limit the gtx 1050ti to like 70% power draw using msi afterburner or something similar. this way it leaves more power for other components in your system.

Should I try what the previous dude said? About limiting the power limit? Tbh I'm not doing any heavy gaming, League of Legends, Fornite at the moment.

Really? can you post some pics of the motherboard? It may have a proprietary psu, but i don't think they made a different connectors.

In years of pc building i never saw a non standart power connectors. But i maybe wrong.

Hello guys. These are my specs:

Core 2 Quad Q9650 @3Ghz

MSI Gtx 1050 ti 4gb

12 gb ddr3 ram

250gbWD SATA 3

Hewlett-Packard 3646h (XU1 PROCESSOR) - motherboard

I was about to start a fortnite match when the audio looped/buzzed and my pc turned off, restarting, it didnt boot the first time, then it booted. I downloaded Aida64 as i was supecting the temps to be a problem. 10 mins in the stress test, cpu sitting at 66 degree C with no throttling i think, gpu at 78 degree C and pc restarted. I opened the pc up and cleaned it. Before this I had some problem with the audio and the lag wich I suspected to be CPU but havent really gone after that atm.  Any ideas please?

Oh my god that motherboard is ancient.

Yea, you should replace that too.

I saw DDR3 and didn't figure it'd be that old and obsolete.

If I were you, I'd do a whole platform upgrade.

It's time.

Keep the 1050ti but upgrade the motherboard, CPU, case, and power supply.

Save up or buy used if you have to.

Like my man, I don't have the money, not that I'm lacking the info that my pc is ancient. The hell if i would stay with this kind of bulid if I had the money, but compared to what i had it's better.

I'll post some more mobo photos rn.

If it supports ATX case, then an ATX PSU will be compatible.

Well, I'm pretty good at building computers on a low budget.

Here are a few pointers:

.Z97 mobos and haswell CPU's are still very capable and can be found for a good price.

those are DDR3 so your ram would likely be fine to transfer over

.if you buy a K skew processor and a z97 mobo like I'm suggesting, you can overclock it to get the same clock speed as modern processors or close to it.

.While hunting auctions on ebay, never bid until the last 2 minutes.

.be careful not to buy anything listed as "parts only"

.As long as you test the components right away, ebay has an automatic refund policy for 30 days after the purchase even if the seller doesn't accept returns.

.I'd still buy the power supply new and I'd try to find something 550w and at least 80+bronze.

.always use pcpartpicker to check compatibility before buying.

I'd say you can do this upgrade for about 500 bucks if not less if you're thrifty, so not too bad.

Not exactly, here are some pics, the connections between the psu and mobo are : a 6 pin connector wich has the 6 has the 6 pins in 3 couples of 2 if u understand what i mean, another 6 pin wich is horizontal, pin after pin and a 4 pin connector. These are the only connectors from mobo to psu

It is LGA 775 but the fact that the website hasn't said that, it's quite fishy.

These are the only 3 wires that are coming out of my PSU and they are connected to the mobo.

That website is just bad....

it also says the board is atx , and it's not , it's btx. And yeah that power .... again..... is using proprietary connections to the board.
