1050 ti vs 1070 ti for 4k editing?

is 4k editing possible with a 1050ti? should i just cough up for the 1070ti?

Why would it not be possible?

You can edit 4k on 8GB of ram and a 2 core CPU if you want.

Yes; however depending on what affects you're putting on the clips, the 1050 ti might be suuuper slow about it. Also, depending on the software.   Vegas, for example, doesn't play very well with CUDA. Premiere on the other hand uses about 80% of the GPU in my testing.

You should go for the 1070, unless you want this to be a temporary card until prices return to normal, based on the software you use, the CPU could be very important.  You would also want lots of RAM and an SSD to edit the footage off of.

How serious are you on editing? What's the software you use? I mean, sometimes even a Quadro is worth going for.
