Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

So you guys up there have heard of the 'stang with the factory CF wheels right?

http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/news/a26046/fords-carbon-fiber-gt350r-wheels-use-nasa-technology/

I know I did..

It's the price you pay for a hand built, 500hp V8 I guess. There's only two ZN6s I know with this installed so far - the Jun demo car in Japan, and the Synergy R&D car in NZ. Of course, a single 4-cylinder bike platform costs about 10% of this for ~half the power, so there's that.

I'd rather pay for like a titanium 2.3 EcoBoost block to be milled and boost the hell out of that instead.

If they don't my mom is just going to daily the regular GT350 then. At least I can sit behind its wheel once in a while, enough though I'll have my own Mustang to fuck around with.

But yeah, if we can snag an R, oh fuck yeah.

ICYMI Ford limited the 2016 production run, but it should be open for 2017. 37 for the -R and 100 for the normal GT350.

There is heated debate among Shelby enthusiasts over how many 1965 GT350 competition models were built during the extremely limited production run. While Carroll Shelby insisted two prototype cars and 35 production models were built, most records show only 34 production models received serial numbers from the Shelby production facility.

For 2015, Ford will make sure there is no confusion about the number of GT350R models constructed; 37 cars will be built in Carroll Shelby’s memory.

I remember reading a few articles that there will be limited production runs for multiple years for each model.

Even if it's an open run, they wont make a lot of them, and it will be expensive. Very expensive.

For the other considered options, that's cheap. I also don't remember what the price of the R's topped out at but it should be low 50s.

Considering a house, it's cheap too. All is relative.

Speaking of expensive cars and having no money, there used to be this one shop near us who built a replica Lamborghini Diablo (body made of sheet stainless steel)... the engine was a carby inline 4 pulled from an old Toyota... no pics since I didn't have a digital camera then... and that was way back when I was in the first year of high school...

You can also see a bunch of replica Hummer H1s built by the local mechanics...

The most interesting abomination one that I've seen around so far is an MR hellaflush dune buggy of sorts with its parts pulled from several different cars...

There's also a certain style of jeepneys where they get the front end of a certain vehicle and build around it...

Well, could get a GT350 for about $40k too.

Both very luxurious and fast too.
