Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 100k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

26 minutes ago, Drak3 said:

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I realize there's definitely one classification but is there a particular reason why this isn't a wagon? At least it gives off the low to the ground vehicle feel to me.

Crossovers tend to have a higher roof line, more ground clearance, and a shorter, but taller cargo area vs a wagon

Today has been productive... Got a hold of a guy who wanted to buy my dads truck, and is selling a jeep, here's the story:

1951 Willys M38, bought in '84 off of a military auction. It belonged to the air force (his phone connection was pretty bad, I'm fairly certain he said air force) , don't believe it was deployed. Guy who bought it is the 1st civilian owner, and the 2nd overall. Never registered, sat in an air tight shipping container from '84 until 2015. It fired right up in 2015, and motor was pulled out at this point for a new clutch. There it sat, exactly in military spec as it left, only missing its windshield glass and soft top. Here's the great part.

$3,500

Thirty-five-freaking-hundred-dollars, for a never registered last-year production M38. Original paint, military decals, EVERYTHING exactly as it left the base in 1984. I'm getting pictures in a couple days, thank the lord im blessed with a good poker face because if I wasn't...

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, CoolerMaster, GSkill (RAM only)

so uh aside from me and @RevoltTrain who else owns a second gen 9-3 in Sedan/SportSedan?

roll call for first gen 9-5 and 9-3 Saabs?
what body style?

Honestly I really dig the first gen 9-5 wagons and 9-3 Wagons.

I really really really want a 2006 SportCombi 9-3 lol

I also want like a 2008 9-7X lol

Anyone own a 9-7X here? That's my favorite flavor of Trailblazer lol

for those of you that don't know here's everything that's related to the Trailblazer:
GMC Envoy

Oldsmobile Bravada (Third Gen)

Buick Rainer

Isuzu Ascender
Saab 9-7X
and while sharing a platform I think that's it, the SSR.

I agree with this lmao.

On another note, I can't remember if I posted it or not in here, but I swapped out the Morimoto HID set up I had in my headlights to a Hylux set up. I was having issues with one not lighting off like it should, while the other worked fine. I replaced one part (canbus), worked better for a couple months, then the same side started acting up again. Replaced the igniter, worked better, but still had issues. Only parts left were the original bulb installed in March, and the original ballast also installed in March. Needless to say it was pissing me off so I cut my losses to a bran that has less quality issues. No complaints thus far, I have noticed that the Hylux take longer to get up to temp, but they are HIDs, they all have a warm up time, and if these work like they should I would be a fool to complain about warm up time.

Meanwhile, the moto world is celebrating the return of the W800, after years of hiatus. And... It's one sweet looking machine with authentic retro padegree, all thanks to air-cooled parallel twin motor with a classic 360 degree crank, steel cradle frame and dual rear-shocks:

Looks like a perfectly restored 70s UJM, if you look beyond the fuel injection (which seems to be hidden very well) and ABS sensor ring.

Would love to swing my leg over one, but that's just wishful thinking at this point, unfortunately.

Oh well...
