Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 100k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

26 minutes ago, Drak3 said:

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Exactly. That's why I corrected his sentence and provided an example of a 4 cylinder that isn't a straight 4 ;)

An example would be nice. I specifically said car 4 cylinders, I know how Yamaha R1 with cross plane crank sounds but then again it does not come in a car.

Although high revving 4 cylinder engines sound somewhat cool, I still think odd numbered engines sound the best. Also props to you for suggesting a hyundai lol.

Ill agree that odd numbered engines are brilliant sounding. Wouldn't quite put them at best tho.

Has to have either 6 or 8 for those honours

absolutely, Ford Barra, RB, JZ and BMW inline 6s is what I would have in my dream build. (which is also happening quite soon as I am looking to get a E46 330Ci)

Already posted a 2ZZ clip, copy cat!

Did their Lotus even run to rev limit? It didn't sound like 8500rpm or like it even got into lift. Weak....

Hi guys !

Petrolhead that just arrived in NYC, and I left my old trusty BMW 325ti E46 in BaguetteLand. Glad to see that thread !

Is there a way to rent a car for track usage only ? I would love to drive in NJMP or an other track in NY/NJ, but I wont buy a car yet. Maybe I will be a Dodge Viper GTC in 2020 though 🤔

All motors sound better than electric motors :P

Or at least more dramatic. I like the drama.

When electric motors do make noise, they tend to make cool noises.

I wouldn't want the high-speed whine, but I wouldn't mind a car that sounded like this thing starting up:

Buffed out the hood on her 16 Escape with TLC on the dual fiber pad to get it about 80% good then buffed on a coat of Optimum GPS with a finishing pad to bring up the final gloss and seal it, let it cure for a few hours and then right out into the rain. Hopefully it doesn't just wash right off. Something *dirty snow brush* scratched the shit out of the hood in big long lines *dirty snow brush* that were heck to polish out, I didn't even get them all. I could have cut more with something harsher but I didn't have a lot of time before she needed to go to work. I'm not even gonna worry about the plastic trim right now, I just want to get the paint polished and sealed with some kind of protectant. I do need to buff the crap out of her glass to scrub it clean, ditto for the Mazda. Some wipes with the harsh clay cloth sure helped a lot but there's still etching/streaking in the glass. I'm going to hit it with some 3M rubbing compound and then put a coat of Rejex on her windshield tonight, probably her side windows too. She doesn't like rain repellents but she can deal with it, I hate how it streaks when I drive it.

Ugh, doing the roof on that car will be fun. I hate tall cars.
