Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

that looks rough.

I feel the needing to do brakes and putting it off

At least parts wise, it should be about £250 (rough guesstimate) so should be approximately £500-600 total? Isn't too bad I guess?

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

UK lockdown means I only use it to food shopping once a week, and just bought our weekly food yesterday so it doesn't annoy me at all :P

Yeah, I really can't spare the monies right now but then again, I'm about to splash ££££ on my flight training this summer for my commercial pilot's license and flight instructor rating so in the grand scheme of things, it only amounts to 3% of my planned budget for that albeit it is a deficit that I somehow will have to make up as that's going straight out of my budget for flight training...😅

that sounds like a lot of fun. I assume private pilots licensee with instrument rating already already. I'll say a line from my Grandpa who was a United Pilot after flying for the Navy, "You are a glorified bus driver"

Bringing Tech and Cars together, today I fitted the adapter I made for my NRG Short Hub to the turn signal canceller on the steering shaft.

I modelled it in Solidworks and printed it in ABS Plastic. Works perfectly 👌

(As a bit of a background, I got a short hub because I wanted the quick release..and a standard Boss kit that fits with the clock spring is too deep. I could have gone the Works Bell short hub but that still sticks out about an inch further  than the NRG hub because it retains the clock spring. I could have gone a short quick release, but i'm more comfortable with the locking mechanism on the full length, and the point of the quick release is to remove the wheel and put a lock on the hub to deter theft.)

Yes and no. PPL with night rating and a "restricted instrument rating", a UK-only IR with greater minimums but significantly less training (15hrs dual vs 50hrs dual) whilst giving me the option to upgrade to a full IR in as little as 10 more hours dual (total 25hrs) in the future so not too bad (25 hrs savings going nicely towards the 30hr FI course 😁

Eh, some people say that but i still want to do it 😂

Bro if you aren't stretching out a 225 to fit a 325, are you even cool? *hits vape*

nah, the plan is go with an OEM spec... not to be cool ... 17x7 or 17x7.5 with a 225/45

18s and 19s would start to get expensive tire wise

currently has a 16x6.5 with a 205/55

Anyone like to donate to the poor? :D

@GDRRiley Big ooft. A little more than I estimated  but I didn't realise how I would need a whole new rear caliper...

Spoiler

As for pricing, it's pretty fair. In general, the parts are about £0-6 more than me ordering it online by myself whilst the labour cost seems fair. I guess that's what happens when you average 40 miles/day...and I've owned the car for a little over 2 years.
