Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

My sister gave me a 25 dollar gift card to... fucking autozone. Not sure what kind of snake oil they sell that I should burn this on.

I like small engines so torque isnt really there lol

Small car + decent power is where its at for me, things like 182's and Cooper S'

Though there are some big cars I have a soft spot for

Some smaller engines have a soft spot in my heart. The one in the first gen Uno turbo springs to mind.

But now that i've tried something with a nice amount of torque i'm hooked xD

I'm considering a small car as a winter vehicle as it would be a bit cheaper though.

Found some video of the linkage in action. Plus a load of ebay links for "rebuild kits"

Not the typical cornucopia of info that the search terms "mk4 Bora" usually bring up.

If I could i'd love to have an old style hot hatch like a 182 or possibly a Mk2 GTI for fun on the way to college and then have a new XC90 for whenever I have to go anywhere with people lol

Unfortunately being 17, in the UK and having no job, that wont happen any time soon

Bit of an issue in the UK, since even the cheapest cars to insure for my are some £120 p/m. The golf was some £330 p/m :/

Currently set on getting a MK2 Clio 16v since they're both cheap and I can get insured on them lol

Second day of the new year. Ended up with a trip to the doc.

Was doing some cleaning and then i felt like i'd been shot in the chest at point blank range with a shotgun.

Doesn't seem to be serious and i'm back home. Doc said it may just be an inflamed sternum but to call if i have further issues.

Hurts like a motherfucker when i breathe though. Just thought i'd let you know since this may impact my mood.

Stay safe.

What do rotors look like when they're starting to develop cracks?

I rarely see cracked rotors, if ever. Just regular vented rotors usually don't crack unless you are like, tracking your awesome autozone brakes. Why are you asking?

There are some weird, dark vertical lines on my front rotors. They're mostly perpendicular to the regular wear lines on it.

Could be starting to, thats a pretty extreme case. Best test is to run your finger nail across the suspect area, if you feel something there then its starting to crack.
