Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Did anyone else (probably only in the USA) listen to the radio show "car talk" when it was still around? It was a great show.

(1970s Saab motorhome)

That thing is awesome, wonder what kind of turning capabilities it has though as the front wheels have fender skirts as well .

In regular driving conditions it would be manageable i'm guessing. (I suppose the wheels are recessed a bit to give them room to do their thing)

In snow however.. That motorhome will not be fun.

found a pic from the front off of a youtube video. you are right it would be manageable but the skinny tires and the fact that they are recessed quite a bit makes it look like a tipping hazard in a small breeze xD

I have an interesting idea though, build a replica and modify two Saab 95 aero front subframes so that one would be om the front with steering and one would be in the back without the ability to steer but with the engine and transmission on it. (Also race everything in both suspensions, poly bushings, coilovers, bigger disc brakes, stiffer swaybars, modded engine with 500+ hp .etc)

Do they make GOOD cheap dashcams yet? I want one but they are kind of expensive :/

my dad has a uniden 1080p camera that he bought from best buy on black friday (well really, black thursday) and even though the little screen on the cam is broken as all hell  (very wonky colors) i'm hoping it doesn't affect the data in any way.

according to tesla, their cars are pretty much fully autonomous now with their latest updates...

THE END IS NEAR :'(

tesla will never convince me to go autonomous cars ever. i don't care if i'm the last person who still drives their cars manually, i will never drive a tesla car, or any autonomous car ever. we're seeing the end of the time where cars can be fun to drive and just now see them as purely practical forms of transportation. it upsets me how even though this generation is so advanced, we're becoming even lazier and lazier as we advance, especially with driving.

it really depends on the exhaust system hooked up to the turbo. if it's nice and open, like straight pipes, then it shouldn't be too bad. if it's like most modern turbo cars, where they choke it up, then it should sound like ass.
