Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

I was gonna get it too, but I'm gonna get paid for an IT job, I am gonna get paid to build a PC for one of my dads friends, ($50) (this is why no one builds custom PCs, because there's NO money in it) and then I helped my grandp with storage this weekend, so I'm gonna do brakes. Steel braided lines, hawk HP+ pads, and if there's a reasonable amount left over I'm gonna try and do a @MEC-777 intake. Duct on the front bumper into a custom air box with the rice "gold foil" insulation, into a KN pod filter, into a velocity stack, to a tube to the MAF and then into the throttle body. Whole thing should cost $100.

Also Mec, how'd you keep the water out on your Civic?

My filter was still some distance from the naca duct (scoop on the lower bumper), so any water that came in would just fall out below.

On my old 86 Volvo 740 turbo, I had the naca duct on the hood right over the filter (could see the filter just inside). Drove through several rain storms and what not, didn't seem to affect it at all. If your engine does ingest a little water it's ok. As long as it doesn't ingest a ton and hydro lock. ;)

Rendering. Hopefully it comes out right. My best run has some hillarious commentary in the beginning of it.

Last run didn't record for some reason. But that's ok because it wasn't that great.

camera position was a bit too low IMO though. And it was too close to my shoulder

Any chance there's a dyno sheet floating around anywhere of the latest setup? I'm curious about the power curve...

I saw this vid when it originally came out, they had some issues and weren't able to make the power they were expecting. That why I was asking how much it made now

Saw it run today. Let's just say that his real world performance is enough to break his own personal and track record at Toronto Motorsports Park by over a second. Don't know how much of it is the retune and how much the quaife sequential, but oh my word is quick. Outpaced the 991 gt3cup by 2 seconds.

@MEC-777 the new TMP track record for unlimited RWD is now 1:12. The new unlimited awd record is 1:11, set by the APH evo (700hp 700tq)

What car set the RWD record?

Sasha's (onpointdyno) 350z set the RWD record, the old one set in 2012 was also his. I think it was a 1:13.5 and then he bettered it to a mid 1:12. Vince stratti (m2w racing) also beat the old record in his LS3 S14 but only managed a 1:13.2.

The awd record was traction limited. They were building way too much boost and he was having trouble putting it down. APH didn't have their big rear wing or diffuser on so they had very little aero. He also had a big off on the wet grass from yesterday's storm.

Ironically, this evo was the one that was stolen last year.

Something weird I've always wanted to do is take a boring fwd car and turn it into a rwd drift monster but keep the outside looking as close to stock as possible. Has it been done before?

that's what i wanted to do with my protege (or some other protege). strip it down, adapt a rwd drivetrain into it, source an appropriate engine, and then rebuild it back to a spec where i have enough creature comforts like a/c and a moonroof and a stereo, and soundproofing. i want it to be a daily/drift monster 2 in 1.

Not really avoidable. Some proper bedding will help quite a bit though. I'd recommend some Winmax pads, especially if you track. They will squeal + squeak a bit, but no where near as bad as HP+, plus the W3 compound should outperform HP+.

I personally run W3's on the BRZ. 6+ track days and still no problems + 15K miles, granted I am on stock Prius tires. Slowly starting to get fast enough, so I'll probably be upgrading to W4's once I get stickier tires. They barely make noise when properly bedded in.

Neither, I have Raybestos ST43 race pads. They make some noise but nowhere near this loud. It's more of a grinding noise sometimes with a little hint of squeal.

I wouldnt recommend either of those pads for you to be honest. Based on reviews I've read, the hps is too mellow and the hp+ gives you issues like this...

look into Ferodo DS2500, the Axxis pads @bcredeur97 mentioned he got for his Miata (installed yet?), or even EBC yellows. I know I posted a pic of crumbled yellows last year from my rsx, but that was after a few track days. But it's a great street/Autox pad

I also now realize I never gave an updated on the stoptech sport pads. I drove my sisters car and I really don't recommend them unless you love stepping on the brake pedal really hard. They really need a lot of pressure pushing them in for them to work. I think my sister just got used to them driving with them all the time. But they seam to have pretty low friction unless you really step on the brake pedal

The quaife is new for 2016, the old car still had the h-pattern. He was attacking the curbs pretty hard and was driving at the ragged edge, coming off every corner with a bit of correction. Crazy quick.

I havent gone through the photos yet but Ill post them up when Im done.
