Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Doesn't bother me, never cared for the Evo

i actually like the evo as much as the sti. plus, built right, an evo can withstand over 10k rpm. like that one video of the evo that has nearly instantaneous 0-60 acceleration and revs all the way to 12k rpm.

I really prefer the Evo over the Subaru because head gaskets. But I really wouldn't argue with an STI swapped outback.

I feel like you should get into Jet engines if you like revs so much :P

nah the mechanicals and physics behind jet engines don't interest me so much :P i'll stick with car engines thanks.

i mean i like the looks of the evo more than the sti (subjective) and i think you can squeeze more power out of an evo.

man, now that the evo is dead, used ones are skyrocketing in price. a couple months ago, i can see a couple for as low as 17 grand. now they inflated 20 grand at least, because of the "rare" factor. i hate that.

They aren't "inflated" now Cassie decent ones never dropped under 20k. If you ever spent less than 20k on an evo you got a pile of crap.... evo'S always held their value well, most niche cars do

this one is going for under 20 grand. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/5737469177.html granted it's got higher miles than an average evo x, but it's got some goodies, plus clean title.

oh yeah i forgot you were the resident evo owner here. forgot that. but there was a guy who was selling his evo 10 just to get rid of it, but really it was in very good condition. clean title, under 80k miles, i don't know why he sold it at 16 grand. and it was not abused at all.

yep, it's gotten uglier in my eyes as well. like sharp angles and a flowing body do not mix.

@Strando123 you could always take air from underneath the car using a small scoop or take it from behind the headlights it seems like there is enough grill space to figure something out.

You should buy a 2 two stroke.

7500 rpm is like the granny shift point in most of them

And even the most crap ones rev to 10k.

And are extremely responsive to throttle and all the usual stuff you rave about in high revving engines :P

i don't know a car with a 2 stroke engine, and bike engines don't really interest me.

Well the 2stroke car engines aren't usually that wild. And most common ones are in very old SAABs and in East-German rustbuckets.

But I'd have thought internal combustion is internal combustion. Car and bike engines aren't that different.

Though most 2 strokes have a bit less cylinders.

it's camo wrap so people don't get ideas on what it looks like until they actually release the model (or not).

Evo's do a good job of looking decent on pics but are really crap once you look at it in person

Double wishbone front suspension is what's important... you want that camber gain in the front

people might think that's what the car will actually like and be either turned on or turned off purely by how it will look.
